National ICT Careers Conference - designed by students for students
BiG DAY IN OVERVIEW
The BiG Day In events are aimed at senior secondary school and university students interested in careers in ICT and technology. BiG Day In helps students obtain more information about ICT and technology careers, and hopefully helps them make a better-informed decision about their future.
BiG Day In events are held on University campuses around Australia (where possible) to give students an insight into what “university life” might look like.
Students listen to 7-8 presentations throughout the day from organisations / speakers talking about subjects including career paths, career opportunities, the latest developments, the future of technology and much more. Presenters include Wisetech Global Ltd, Adobe, IBM, Microsoft, Westpac, Google, NAB, CSIRO, Technology One, ANZ Bank, Department of Human Services, CBA, Animal Logic, Apple and a host of SME organisations to name just a few.
In the morning tea and lunch breaks, students visit the exhibitor stands to speak to exhibiting organisations, Universities and Colleges to learn about tertiary courses and degrees, work experience, internships, apprenticeships and to see demonstrations of some awesome technology!
In 2018, BiG Day In was privileged to have 120 speakers and 140 exhibiting organisations nationally involved in delivering 10 events in Wagga, Sydney, Adelaide, Sunshine Coast, Perth, Melbourne, Newcastle and Brisbane. We helped more than 5,200 students explore careers in technology and where it can take them.
In 2019, the BiG Day In roadshow will be run in at least 12 locations nationally.
