A brief look at the lessons learned building a VR training start-up and how to ready for a post COVID-19 world. Delivered by Roger Lawrence, CEO of ACHIEVR, dedicated to solving the toughest training problems with Virtual Reality. Former CTO for Innovation at Hewlett Packared Enterprise Services, former Manager for Developer & Partner Evangelism, Microsoft.
Roger Lawrence is a passionate traveller and professional geek. He combines these interests as co-founder of ACHIEVR, a start-up that solves the toughest training problems using Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) Roger’s has worked on complex IT systems in over 22 cities, on four continents. In his most recent corporate role he worked as CTO for Innovation at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise across Asia-Pacific and Japan, and he also spent 5 years at Microsoft managing consultants and technology evangelists.
He is a popular speaker, with national and global experience including at Microsoft TechEd, Microsoft Imagine Cup, HP TechCon, and the AIIA iAwards, among others. Of course he has been a proud supporter and contributor to the ACS Big Day In since its inception.
Roger has also worked as a professional sailor and scuba instructor. When travelling he will walk, sail, and fly, but currently his favourite mode of transport is his adventure motorcycle. You can check out ACHIEVR here and find out more about Roger on his blog.

Currently Head of Animation at AFTRS, Australia’s premiere screen content & radio school, she champions the technological creativity & collaborations that bring amazing stories to audiences all over Australia & the world.
